Well, fast forward to December of 2021. My rotator cuff was completely trashed. So they had to do a reverse replacement. That complicates things. I still have a good bit of pain, but I'm able to get a little more movement out of the joint already.

I ended up with arthritis in my left shoulder from a snow skiing incident 20 years ago. It still hurts!! My mother used to say "where there's a will there's a way". I'm going on 73 in Feb and I raced 16 weekends last year. My 014 Spectrum FF is easy to get in and out of. Speedy recovery! Hope to see you at a track soon! John FF69
All the cool kids are getting reverse shoulder replacements. I had mine done end of October and progressing well. I'm back on the rowing machine as of 3 weeks ago and gaining strength and endurance. Looking forward to getting back in a car, hopefully end of April.
Looks very familiar. I'm not to any kind of resistance yet. My surgery was done on 12/22/21, so I'm only about 4 weeks out. I'm soooo impatient though after dealing with this for two and a half years. I'm beyond ready to get back to normal. I will say this, when they put Humpty back together the first time back in 2019, it was three weeks before they got me out of the sling and into PT. This time, the surgeon started me with a nurse and PT in my home the very next day. Painful as hell, but I honestly think that's the way to do it to keep things from getting really stiff.
Yes, the first few weeks are boring and painful, just doing the range of motion stuff. I actually felt better doing the initial light resistance exercises and now have no weight limitations. Although on the side with the shoulder replacement my arm is about an inch longer than the other one. I'm told as muscle builds it will pull back into a more normal length.
That's the weird looking part right now. The muscles in that area atrophied a good deal anyway. So once they'll let me start using weights, I plan to do so. My deltoids will now have to do the job my rotator cuff did originally. The human body is amazing in its adaptability sometimes.
After a shoulder injury I installed power steering.
DCEmicrosteer into the steering shaft.
Well now everything is on hold. I may have a bacteriological infection going on inside my arm. So even PT is on hold until all the tests come back and they figure out why things are the way they are.
Ouch! Sorry to hear that.
I still deal with a good amount of pain and the shoulder doesn't move past about 35% to 40% of what it did prior to the original break. But I refuse to give up. I'll have nearly-full movement one day and the pain will be a lot more manageable. Now cue the cheesy inspirational music.
Everything is still on hold until they figure things out. But it looks like I probably don't have an infection. So that's good news. What I do have however, is nerve damage from about the vertical center of my neck, down through the shoulder and arm, all the way to the tips of my last two fingers. The Radial and Ulnar nerves I believe. It may have happened from the original break or the first surgery and then the last surgery caused everything to become irritated and inflamed. Either way, this could have been the cause of the pain I've been having all this time all along. The surgeon said that nerve pain is the worst and I can't disagree with him on that. It feels like I got a root canal on my entire arm and don't have anything to deal with the pain. I do have pain meds and I'm under the care of a pain mgmt specialist. But the meds can only do so much. They'll probably do a 2nd nerve block near the end of the month. From what it looks like now, I may just have to deal with the pain until the nerves heal. That's at the rate of about a millimeter/day. So it may be a while. But at least the mechanical part of everything is the way it should be. I get an MRI on the 26th and they'll see how things need to progress from there. If you have to break bones, break them in the middle. Don't break them at the joint as I've found the whole process to be a real b*tch.
...very sorry to hear of the setback.
Had an MRI of the entire area on 03/26/2022 and all they really found is that my back is pretty messed up. Knew that already. Had a nasty fall back in 2016 and broke at least six of my vertebrae. So they're just going to do things by trial and error now to see if they can narrow things down. Until then, I just have to deal with it the best I can with what I have.
Oh Man, I’m really sorry to hear this!
All the best, these things always take longer than we think, and it’s hard to keep the hopes alive.
My best wishes that you’re able to keep plugging along.
Once we think we’ve mastered something, it’s over

Latest update: The mechanics of the shoulder are good. The muscles and nerves are still all messed up. They're starting to think I did some major damage to my Brachial Plexus during the original break. That's what's still causing a good amount of pain this far out. The surgery was back on 12/22/21, so I shouldn't still be in this kind of pain. But now my forearm and last two fingers ache miserably 24-7 along with my bicep/tricep area and, of course, my shoulder and neck. I've been doing PT, but I've hit a plateau for the moment. I can get the shoulder to about 124 degrees assisted, but can't get past that point for some reason. I'm getting a nerve block done at the Brachial Plexus (Erb's Point) on 9/12/22 and suspending PT until after that. Their theory is that if I don't have as much pain in the shoulder, they might be able to get it past the 124-degree mark. Hope so. I'm so done with all of this. The PT, the pain meds. I just want things to be back to as close to normal as possible. I'm both mentally and physically exhausted from it all.

Never Driven any F1 Car, Nor with good neither with bad shoulder, Would love to Have a ride in an F1 car and experience some G's.
In my five joint replacements or repairs I have gotten into the pool as soon as the doc allowed. All of my range of movement is very good with no pain other than the aches you get from exercise.
Of course none of my joint problems were from injuries, just joints wearing out.
Would Love to drive a formula Car but not with the bad shoulder. want to feel at least 2Gs in this thing.
