Hey all,
Finished up with my FE2 build and for the most part I’ve got the data system working as it should be. It’s an AIM EVO4S. The one channel I’m still struggling to setup is steering angle. I went with the string pot to make installation a bit easier and so I didn’t have to deal with belt slippage. I assumed there’d be some sort of calibration utility where I could set full left lock, full right lock, and center but I’m not finding anything like that in Race Studio 3.
The sensor is mounted to the left of the column so it’s setup such that its maximum length is reached at full right lock and it’s minimum length is at full left lock. In the channel setup I’ve got the “Steering Pos” function selected for the channel, along with “Angular Pot. AutoCal” for Sensor and 100Hz for Sampling Frequency. Total potentiometer travel is set at 180 which is the default setting.
Any help/advice would be appreciated on how to get this sensor properly calibrated to show my correct steering angle. I’ve been unable to find any documentation on the string pot on the AIM website or on their YouTube channel.
Thanks,
Eric
