    Default Lola T340 Shocks

    Hello all!

I am looking for replacement front shocks for my Lola t340. It had Konis, but the bottom mount has been sheered off of one. I do not know a thing about shock absorbers, so I wanted to see if anyone had advice or shocks for sale? I really wouldn't know where to start.

    Cheers!!!

Search the internet for formula ford or club ford shock absorber set up shops. Pick three close to home, call them up and tell them what you want to do, how much you want to spend, and how often you want to spend it. Have a good conversation with them about their products and services. Pick three more until you find one that you feel good about and is willing to work with you as an individual. Shocks are a never ending journey. I know national champions who sold their car and kept the shocks. Good luck

    Default Replacement Koni?

I've got a front and a rear Koni from my crashed Merlyn Mk. 11, if fixing the set is what you want. Front is 13.5" extended and rear is about 14 7/8". They're marked B1.

I spend my working life now in supplying shocks for older race and sports cars. I’m the Australian distributor for AVO shocks. Unfortunately, there is no distributor in the US.

After reshocking (is there such a word) many Formula Fords my main advice is to confirm the lengths of shocks you need. Do not rely on what you have got as being correct. I dont know what went on when these things were made, but I suspect that they just fitted whatever shock length was available. As well as that, what has been replaced on them, can be the wrong length as well.

Put your car at the ride height you want - without shocks. Measure the lengths, do the same at full bump, and rebound. How much? you will need to get some Lola expert advice, but 2” body movement for rebound seems to work well in the rear.

As others have stated, find someone local who can service, rebuild and tune your shocks to your springs and car.
