SA2020 Helmet availability

I started looking into new Helmets back in June. Availability was September.
I was told that the they expected to catch up by then.

Now I'm looking and they are telling me January !

Looking for a Bell Racing GP3 Carbon in size "Jack-in-the-Box" (62).

Has anyone received an order on time?
It's looking like I'll have to miss the first and possibly second races next year...

I'm not sure we've every experienced a supply problem like this before, but has SCCA ever granted waivers if you have an order in hand?

Yesterday spoke with Simpson for a 2020. Ordering composite not carbon. 10 to 14 days for delivery was told. Then they said they no longer make the size I used to wear in their prior helmet. Called and ordered a 2020 from Impact instead. Was told 2 weeks for composite. Did not ask about carbon order time frame from either company

We had that problem when the Bell 2015SA helmets came out. Bell moved their (2) manufacturing plants to one location and didn't make enough shells before the move to keep supply flowing. 2016 was a bust for Bell helmet sales.
I had a few customers for whom I wrote letters and had them bring to Tech. At first SCCA wanted to play "hardball", but then, once informed, local and National relaxed until the supply issues were resolved.
With Covid related supply issues in many industries, I don't think SCCA would have a hard time understanding the problem again.

Post on 9/15 said I ordered composite......received Email today said it has shipped.....so their approx 2 weeks turned into roughly 6....but not complaining
