Default Oil Cooler / Filter Block Hitting Exhaust

    Hey,

I was wondering if anyone had a good idea of what I should do. My oil cooler on top of the filter/cooler block is in the way of my exhaust. It is a Caracal / Lynx exhaust. How do I get the cooler out of the way?

    Default Cooler

One option might be to go to a 5 row -Type 1 cooler.
The Type 1 cooler is similar to the one pictured- just 1" narrower.

Your Cooler/Filter Manifold Block is too wide. Go with this type.

I was able to run the widest cooler on a Caracal-C with that same exhaust system.

Or go to a remote cooler and put it where it will be most effective.

Is the whole assembly mounted 90 degrees off? Fin openings in line with direction of travel of the car?

Manifold block mounts directly to the stock cooler mounting location on the case, filter goes across the centerline of the motor and the cooler is mounted to the rear of the manifold block facing left-right. As per FV rules (unless they've changed) ducting into the body must make a 90 degree turn.

BTW...the fittings on the cooler were for my pressure sender. Not necessary, just the way I plumbed it at the time.

To be specific that limitation only applies to openings that are WITHIN THE FV PROFILE specs .. not that it really matters .

This seems like a good place to remind everyone that if you are mounting an oil pressure sender on any part of your engine, you SHOULD mount the sender to the end of a HOSE.Attach the hose at the sensor PORT (wherever it is on the engine) and run it to a point where you can 'soft mount' the actual sensor. If you mount the sensor directly to the engine, in almost all cases, it will eventually BREAK OFF from vibration and dump all of your oil onto the ground until you run out .. of oil. I just zip tie the hose (close to the sensor end) to my firewall.
