For sale 1981 Van Diemen RF81 CF Race Car. Raced with Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing in Colorado since 2016 with current RMVR log book. The car was tech inspected and passed inspection on 05/21/20. The car was raced in three race weekends in 2016, two race weekends in 2017 and one race weekend in 2020. Race car sat unused for three years due to Owner illness from September 2017 until August of 2020. This car consistently ran in the top five of the FF race group. Won one race in it's first race weekend with the current Owner at High Plains Raceway, CO RMVR RAKC 2016, won the 2016 RMVR Enduro at High Plains Raceway, CO and has ran 2:00 lap times at High Plains Raceway, CO and 1:34 lap times at Hastings Motorsports Park in Hastings, NE. A very well setup car, easy to drive and with the right driver and the right skills could be a front runner in the FF group. This is a very desirable car for the CF racing group. This car would be eligible to race in most Vintage Racing Organizations in their FF group. The car has been recently corner weighted and weighted to meet SCCA minimum weight of 1100 lbs with driver and no fuel, set toe front and rear, camber front and rear and ride height set to specs. The engine was rebuilt July of 2017 and has approximately 6 hours and 40 minutes on it. New +5 CP pistons, Total Precision Engines custom ring set, new main, rod and camshaft bearings, timing chain, tensioner, cam sprocket, full gasket set, fuel pump and valve seals. Block and head pressure tested and Mag tested, re-surfaced cylinder head, planed top of block and power honed cylinder walls by Total Precision Engines. Fiberglass body is in average condition with some cracks near rollbar cutout and rear shocks and some rock chips on front nose. The Van Diemen chassis number is : 507. Nice car a lot of money spent on this car. I sold it a few years back it was also own by Marty Knoll from MK Technologies in Kelowna BC. Was sad to see the car go south.

I believe it was the other way around, all in-board from the factory, the out-board ones are converted to meet the club ford rules in some locations.

May be a slippery slope getting this to qualify as a CF on the East Coast as many do not recognize aftermarket outboard conversions unless supplied by the manufacturer. For example the Citation/Zink Z-16 is ok, Crossle 55F is not although both can have outboard shocks, only the Zink was provided a factory conversion. Car can still run as a Post CF. Just saying from experience...

1981 Van Diemen RF81 came with inboard front suspension and outboard rear suspension. My car was converted to outboard front suspension by Archie Hodges in Seattle to meet the CF requirements of ICSCC/SCCBC that CF's have outboard suspension on all four corners.
