Default What it takes to set up a rock show

Most of us are all live concert fans, but not all that many know what goes on behind the scenes in getting a show set up. A friend and occasional FC racer that a lot of you know, Mark Hogue, and been the tour organizer for a ton of well known bands over the decades (Aerosmith, Moody Blues, Manhatten Transfer, Uriah Heep, J. Geils, Melissa Manchester, Barbara Streisand, Bob Seger, Stevie Wonder, Chicago, and god only knows how many others). This video was made and broadcast back in '97 about what it takes to set up a show like Aerosmith's, then run it and take it down to get to the next show - and it really only scratches the surface about what it takes.

All these millions of people around the world in this trillion dollar industry have been out of work for a year now because of this damned virus.

So, when a race is cancelled because of Covid concerns, think about what there people are going through.

    Very interesting. Thanks for posting.

I remember reading about the Pink Floyd The Wall tour and what a massive effort that was.

I remember way back when with Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, that they had Emerson's piano on a platform that rose up out from under the stage and rotated many feet above the stage while he was strapped on to the bench. I can only imagine the mechanical setup that it took to do that! Their show took something like 12 tractor trailers and a full 24 hour day to set up.

A parent at my son's school who was a 'roadie' brought the setup tracker/trailer to school for the parent occupation share day.
