Problems are centered around the college towns
I'm not being an alarmist, but please take this seriously. There are over 80 colleges and universities in Wisconsin, and 12 are in the counties surrounding Road America. At the track, it's pretty easy to stay reasonably safe, but when you go into town there are only so many places to go to begin with. Bringing thousands of people from across the country has dangers. Fond du Lac county is doing better than many other places in the state, however.
We have a 22% positivity rate right now with a 17% seven-day average. Two of the six (I think there are six) Green Bay hospital ERs are over capacity. Less than two months ago we were at 9% and that was seen as a disaster. So, here we are.
Here is the State's website for the data nerds.

I've had several friends with this. Some are just fine, a few are still feeling the effect months later. Again, please stay safe.
Thank You, Harding and Reid.
Today, a first, Wisconsin had the #1 infection rate per population. I wrongly mocked this virus at first, even here, then lost a dear, lifetime friend (a longtime racer and Indy 500 Rookie of the Year) to COVID early on. I last spoke with him in February, he was skiing every day, and I told him he’d live to be 100. We laughed together, and two months later he was gone.
RIP, Bob.
If only beer & brats were an effective vaccine against the virus
President Trump has tested positive for COVID.
When we were there for the Sprints, we literally did not see a mask once we left the track. I felt intimidated to not wear mine when I should have. If you are attending the Runoffs, particularly from a North Eastern state where everyone wears masks, please be prepared for some culture shock. As we all know, most SCCA people are in a higher risk demographic. Lets take care of each other!
