    Default Neck Support

After several months in isolation, I went in a super sprint yesterday at a very short and tight circuit - Pheasants Wood - just south of Sydney. It’s very tight, and offers good grip, but 9 corners in 1.6km, makes it busy. Most corners were seeing 1.6g. After 30 laps, my neck gave out, and I had to call it a day. I could not hold my head upright in corners, and couldn’t turn my head to see ahead.

Other than becoming younger, and increasing neck strength, has anyone had experience with any device that support your neck?

    Default weight training

I detest working with weights but this is what one of the trainers at the gym suggested:

By the looks of your profile pic, a cockpit bolster/head surround doesn't appear to be an option since the car is of an older vintage and has a lower tub. It's been discussed before about using collars for head support, but I believe in an impact an old type collar becomes a fulcrum and could potentially cause harm especially since HANS devices are the norm now so collars really aren't an option. Strengthening your neck and/or getting a lighter helmet are about your only options I would think if you're going to continue to run the same type of track with sustained Gs in the same car.

    Default Using weights on neck

A Doctor told me to be very careful using weights to make neck stronger cuz it is possible to hurt something. Nothing like a pain 8n the neck.
