Can anyone here educate me on getting kids into autocross with karts? The scca page is awful. What karts do kids use? What's the age range, etc.
Thanks.

Junior karting rules start on page 172.
Looks like some karting classes allow kids as young as 5.
Only a handful of regions are allowed to have FJC, which is 5 to 8 year old kids. The must use a kid kart chassis.
The site also weighs heavily into the equation and are not allowed to run karts because of the transitions from the track to the figure eight.
I'd be looking into IKF, WKA, and SKUSA before SCCA... unless you're autocrossing and already involved.
Those clubs live and breathe karting and have done well to keep it healthy for nearly 60 years.
Yes, I was thinking that he's already involved in SCCA and wants to do something SCCA-related with kids/grandkids. W2W karting and AutoX karting are two different animals. Getting kids involved where there's nothing to hit (or hit you) but a cone or two would be a great start at a fraction of the cost and risk.
