Default Amount of 4 Gauge Battery Cable Required

Does anyone have a guesstimate amount of red and black 4 gauge wire required to wire a car from scratch?

    Thanks

    It's 2/ft at Pegasus
Measure your car and how you want to wire it. Double the length and you should be good.

Cars are wired 2 ways, one is with ground interrupted by the cutoff switch and the other is positive is interrupted.
Some cars have cut-off on the dash, others near the roll hoop.
Some batteries are under the drivers legs, some are elsewhere.
All have their pros and cons, each uses a different amount of wire.

Default Wiring diagram I used for an FC

This should be similar to what's needed for an FF. The cutoff is on the negative side.

I have also used his diagram on the last car I rebuilt. Agree...can't go wrong

I made 2 small changes and 1 addition:

    Red for power to starter
Ran the transponder off the ignition switch
Ran another power lead off the battery for my data system

I would say 8 ft of red and 4 ft of black 4g is plenty . (My switch is on the dash)

    My answer is, zero.
We use 6 gauge wire, unless the battery is in the nose of the car and you still use a Lucas starter.

If I re-wire mine, I may try the 6-gauge wire. OTOH, we don't have a weight issue with the Citation F2000 - we are carrying over 40-lb of ballast in the form of a 1/8" steel sub-floor and other 1/8" steel plates fastened to the bottom of the car.

Come to Buffalo and eat chicken wings. You won't need ballast!
