Post 1973 Crossle 25F Shock and spring choices?

I have purchased my 1st FF,a '73 25F after running Formula Vee for 3 years.

I have read countless threads on corner weight and tire ratios, reading spring rates coming in up to 1000#'s down to 200#'s, unfortunately all read not associated to early Crossle's! I am hoping for some simple starting points on a car such as mine, from those that have gone through all the math and come up successful. The car is bare frame right now, so I don't have much go off of, besides keep reading other posts, which I will do. I hope the car weighs at or less than 1000#'s when done and I weigh 240#'s.

    Spring rate suggestions?

Then shocks. I have 2 sets, 1 Armstrong, and 1 Koni. Both have 1 adjuster that came with the car. Both sets need rebuilding. I between using the best set, selling the other, or buying new and selling both sets. I read about open, closed, and closed with bump lengths. I can get these measurements off these shocks, haven't but have noticed all 4 are the same.

    Suggestions on shocks?

    Thanks to all!

I would be more than happy to help you. Ange at ANZE Suspension can also give you pretty much what you need to know on springs and shocks for your car. Welcome to the FF and Crossle Fraternity.

    Default 2 cents

Chuck Horn used to consistently whip me in one of those for years...
    I had a 1980 - 40F...
    Very fun to drive..
Neil Porter supplies Crossle parts and can help with set up info.
I remember 350 to 450 as spring rates but he can tell you more.
It also depends a bit on your tire choice. (we used American racers)

We all used penske shocks which work great on those cars but are a bit pricey...

    good luck

I went with Penske. Tuning in spring rates. Not much track time yet due to engine issues and shock length. Thanks for the help.
