    Default 1969 Altona Formula Vee

    1969 Altona formula vee. Built by Horst Kroll. One of only a few left.

    Complete car with exception of battery and transponder.

    Completely disassembled and restoration about 80% complete. Little time to complete and less to race unfortunately.

    Engine: Built by Bill Vallis, currently has 4 weekends on it, hasn't been raced since 2016. Block is a stock F1200 block. Currently running with generator and fan for Monoposto.

    Transmission
    : Short box built by Bill Vallis.

    Suspension
    : Carrera rear shocks, Koni front shocks. New powder coated brake drums. New brake shoes.

    Tires
    : Running with Dunlop FV race tires to comply with FV Monoposto. They have some life left on them.

    What it needs:
    Battery, transponder, oil temp gauge, belts.

    New:
    U-joints on the shift linkage, belly pan.

    Can email photos of restoration or other details of car.

    $5,000.

    Spare axles, axle tubes, front beam, brake drums and brake back plates available.

    raced against that type at Harewood Acres and restored one in 1972

    Great price on a cool Vintage FV.

    The design of the frame is very interesting, lots of protection for the driver, long trailing arms and slick bodywork.

    We sold the car to Mike. The car is very capable and easy to drive.

    Yes, this car was design by Horst Kroll. As I understand it, when he designed the car he lived on Altona Road, which gave the name to the car. The idea behind the very long trailing arms was for a larger swing radius and limit the suspension geometry change on compression. I can't say if it actually works enough to make a difference, but they also provide some nice side protection!
