Don't you have to run steel wheels in vintage?

Steels are required with most, if not all, vintage FF groups. Although I wish that was not the case. I've always wondered, when alloys became legal in the US.

My 1974 Hawke came from Canada, and at the time used alloy wheels.

It's Australian Historic Papers allow "the use of period alloy wheels".

It's the only Historic FF I've seen with Alloys, and has to be explained almost every time I go through scruitineering.

Not all Vintage groups require steel wheels on their FF's. Steel wheels are part of the Monoposto Register FF spec, so clubs that have adopted MR rules generally also require steel wheels. VARA is an exception; they use the MR rules but allow alloys. RMVR (Colorado) runs under the '72 SCCA GCR, and allows alloys. You should always check with the club(s) you'll be running with.

Hi,
Les Weller is up and running again. http://www.wheelspecialist.co.uk/LW_Contact.htm

I don't think the Dunlops are available anymore, if you go for secondhand check carefully for cracks around center and where the wheel centre is welded to the rim. My cracks were "cured" by tubes when I bought my car!
