Default Racing Electronics headset wiring diagram?

    All -

I've troubleshot intermittent TX/RX issues with an older Racing Electronic crew headset - several wires were disconnected from the miniXLR connector in the right ear muff. I've pinged RE for a wiring diagram, but it's "proprietary" and they won't send it to me.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for RE headsets? Has anyone repaired them and can offer advice?

    TIA,

    Ron

Need to fix the miniXLR connctor on the right muff...the one the headset cord plugs into. Nothing like that on the left side.

I had to make repairs to two Racing Electronics headsets with hard wired cables. They connect to a Racing Electronics ISC box with scanner input. Replaced the coiled cords with standard (and cheap) three pole male plug unshielded cables.

The other two headsets came without cables. The have the 5-pin Mini-XLR connector on one of the ear cups. Bought new cable connectors to fit and wired in two more standard (and cheap) three pole male plug unshielded cables. I added miniature 1.5k ohm pots to the earcup able the XLR connector. I left the capacitor in place.

The ICS box now has four headsets available for use. I usually just use two, but its nice have an extra at the track in case one wants to chat with a third or fourth person.
