For Sale 91 Van Diemen F1600 - sold

    SOLD
    History:

I purchased the car in the offseason 2016. It came from Ottawa and was previously run in Ontario and Quebec by Andre Lorent and Lew Mackenzie.
The car won both B class supporting races at the 2016 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.
The engine has a steel head with very good flow and a ford crank. It has a 16lb flywheel and racing clutch and hepolite pistons. The head was refreshed before I bought it for the 2017 season.

Car comes with CASC-ON and CACC logbooks with full history.

Penske double adjustable shocks **for those wondering this is a dual front shock car - not monoshock**
Floor is T6 aluminum and the body sides have Kevlar anti-intrusion
Updated newer style nose/shock cover (more aerodynamic)"

    New this season:
    New Odyssey PC680 Battery - 2017
New Sabelt FIA belts - 2017
New lightweight racing muffler from Pegasus - 2017
Rebuilt Carb by Loyning - late 2017
Re-routed throttle cable for better response (previously had far too many bends and pedal was too heavy)
Suspension Set up by Marty Knoll of MK Technologies.

Car was raced 5 weekends in 2017. It could use a once through and a clean up as it hasn't raced yet in 2018,but it is a solid car.

At the scales it was 1,115lbs with a driver that weighs about 190lbs. The car is light. The 1991 cars are also known to be very aerodynamic for their time.

    Spares:
Comes with 2 sets of Panasports (1 set with American Racer slicks)
    "Used" side covers
    "Brand New" unpainted nose/shock cover

    Reason for selling:
    sold

I have a lot of Kent parts that could be negotiated for as well.

    Location: Langley, British Columbia.
Shipping costs: I have shipped 2 cars now from the East Coast. It can be done for around $2,500 CAD
But of course, preference given to local drivers so we can continue to grow our group.

Sorry for the confusion Robbie. It should say "spare engine cover and side cover". I'll simplify the sentence in the ad to avoid confusion.

Interesting point though...I do have a ton of spare Kent stuff, including a complete engine in pieces. So a large spares package could be arranged for a price...

Little price drop. I would love to keep this car local but it would also be nice to have the cash to fund other things.

bump - after speaking to the shipping company I used previously, the shipping will be closer to $3,000 CAD ($2400 USD) back towards the east coast (Using Ontario as a reference)

Motivated to move this as I have lots of things to pay for coming up soon.

Try JR HALL trucking. They do lots of LTL cross country. They have a terminal in S. Vancouver with a ramp. They shipped 4 large (and high) skids for about $900 to S.Ontario in late 2016 for a client so.............

Describe it as a large go kart. The word 'car' changes the game completely in the eyes of shippers.

Pack it yourself and lug it to the dock personally. I would consider removing and shipping the fuel cell separately later to avoid hassle.

    Ken.

    Default border wars

Could you bring the car to Seattle? Not interested in dealing with potential customs/ border issues
    Thanks

I'd have to look into that...I have crossed the border with it a few times but it has always been for a race...

edit: PM me if interested - it may be possible.

Yes, there are a few people interested but I have been too busy to gather more pictures. I am back in town now (for 3 days) but I will get some pictures for everyone before I leave!
And if you want I can call you on that number.

Still for sale. Could potentially include a brand new sticker set of Hoosier R60's with the sale (or American Racers depending on where you race).

Great car and a good price. It will sell. I have a 90 VD which I autocross. I am interested in the feature "Front roll centre and camber curve are far superior to original due to re-engineering, eliminating the stock understeer." Do you have info on this mod?
    Thank you for your time.

You can try to make a street car into an autocrosser or you can do a lot less work and make a race car into a great autocrosser

I believe he is just talking about the 93+ factory updated bottom upright pins that lower the bottom with bone by 1/2” (or close to that)

Can't resist: In the second photo it looks like you were driving through town and have pulled over with car trouble, and you're on the phone with AAA (or CAA as the case may be), calling for a tow.

Probably this ^. Although in my ignorance at the time I just pulled that sentence from the for sale ad from which I bought the car from.
