    Hi folks,

I'm after a rack, rack body casting, or info as to what they were made from (year/make/model) please.

    Cheers, Jason

I believe those racks were made by Jack Knight or some other specialty shop in the UK.

The Titan racks are very close to what a jack Knight was and you might be able to use one of their housings with minor modifications.

    Default Lola rack housing.

Hello: I have made replacement racks housings and racks since " The Day ". If I can see a photo of your rack and dimensions overall length etc I have already made parts that are not identified for which Lola model they fit. I would only make the racks to fit from the original sample to prevent cars being made up from parts in the day". If you can provide photo and o/all dim I will search my parts shelf of new housings. I am ok shipping to NZ or Aus. I also can make rack itself if necessary. Pinions are a problem.

Did an Apex search, and found this:

“If you do have to replace the rack, replace it with a jack knight type. ie short style rack. This allows you to use longer tie rods eliminating a great deal of bump steer at the same time. also reduces the chance of rack damage during a shunt. it is a simple changeover.”

    Thanks Wayne,

I'm away for work until early next week, will take some pics then and post them up and get in touch. Hopefully we can match something up. I'm sure I can straighten the rack bar, and the pinion should be ok. Just the RH side of the body has taken a hit.

    Jase.
