Temp of Thermo?

On the Honda, what temperature of thermostat do you use and why?
What is the typical ambient temperature at your races?

The build manual for the Fit conversion says to reuse the original thermostat, and a little checking online shows 170F for the opening temperature. This number is confirmed for my car by the fact that it is at approximately that temperature that I start feeling heat in the radiators when warming up the car in the shop.

I can't see any reason to install a different thermostat.
