Thanks, Jay & Jerry. This is the best car I've owned and much more capable than my results have shown (2nd place at 2012 Runoffs notwithstanding). It still has more untapped potential and I wish I could continue to develop it.

To that end, I would consider offering it as an Arrive-and-Drive rental for the 2018 season. Rates are negotiable.

    Default Awesome buy

Did you have the Geartronics in and working for the Runoffs? Is it setup for an H/P air bottle or compressor?

Such an amazing, easy to drive, well sorted, successful car.
I will always have a special place in my heart for "Connie"! (the "Conversion" chassis.

*The 2L Pinto that came out of this car and sold to Russ Werner ended up being the highest HP, FC engine that Quicksilver ever built...

    Default Van Diemen F1000

This car is SO way underpriced and I know it can win! The great things about a Van Diemen, you can always bolt on a FF or F2000 rear and have a winner in those series as well. But banging gears in a F1000 at 12k+ RPM without lifting is a fun experience! BIke motors are typically reliable delending on your driving style, rev management, and a little good luck. (I know because I have run bike motors in Stohr’s and F1000 since 2008). Amazingly my F1000 motor has been in the car since 2012.

My Van Diemen F1000 is going through a ground up and I will be running the NAF1000 Series next year. So come out and race this car in the highest payout SCCA Club Series Class.

Crowe Composites has 4 raised nosed conversions options for this car. Our Carbon Fiber Attentuator nose will take probably up to 20Lbs off this car. We are also building a rear carbon attenuator that further reduces weight.

Just to be clear, this is NOT a heavy car. In its current configuration with 165 lb driver, I crossed the scales at the June Sprints at just under 1,000lb.

The current nose/wing assembly weighs 19lb. While a carbon nose will certainly reduce the weight, it won't remove 20lb.

    Default Vd f1000

I fat fingerd it and meant 10 plus savings. My RF00 car was over weight and the nose made the difference. So the good news is a heavier driver can still be at minimum weight. Again, an awesome deal for a great car.

There is simply no way anyone could start from scratch and build any F1000 for this price. What a deal!

I might, MIGHT, consider a partial trade for a regional level FF or FC, or a national level FF/FC project.

    Default Current asking price.

    Mike,

First, is the car still available?

Second, a dumb question(s). What comprises the Geartronics package that was sold separately, does that leave the car "ready-to-drive and what is the current asking price? Also, other than the Geartonics, I assume all the other "spares" as originally listed, still come with the car?

Finally, I have an '84 Swift DB-1 FF that I've campaigned since March 2004 in a regional club in Oklahoma (last run two weeks ago). I believe I'm the third owner Does that in any way line up with your potential trade constraints?

    Thanks,

Malcolm Joyce (mjbxj6@yahoo.com or 918-333-0230) (Oklahoma

    Malcolm,
Yes, the car is still available. The original ad in post #1 is fully updated with the current asking price and lists everything that will go with the car. The car is ready to drive with the mechanical paddle shifter and cable blipper.
Feel free to send me a PM with particulars on the DB-1 and what you're asking for it.
    Thanks!

    Mike,

I guess I'm too computer-illiterate to be able to work with a "pm", but I would be willing to take this discussion off of ApexSpeed.

    My email address is: mjbjx6@yahoo.com.

    My phone number is 918-333-0430.

    Thanks,

    J. Malcolm Joyce

    Bartlesville, OK (think Tulsa)

P.S. - We lost our internet connection for a while (Monday evening) and I had my computer "expert" in day surgery yesterday pinning her wrist back together after a bicycle accident, thus my slow response..

    Mike,

Is your car still on the market? I've sent you two emails (on 5/20 and 5/27) with no response, so was wondering. I won't have good access to the internet from 5:00 a.m. tomorrow through late Sunday, June 10th (I'll be west of you in Minnesota) and then again from Jun 12th through June 17th (I'll be south of you at Indy for SVRA). But I WILL have my phone with me in both instances (918-333-0430). Please call me (or text) and let me know what the status of your car is and whether you've received my emails.

    Thanks,

Malcolm Joyce (Bartlesville, OK - 918-333-0430)
