I think that I know what the car looks like but know we all like pictures.
I also think that if this is what I think it is it would be a good car for track days or to go to a vintage event where they will let you "run what you brung" as long as you pay. Plus it's a pretty roomie car.
need more details and pics...tranny? log book?etc...
I think Al is having log in difficulties, so it's best to call him. Hope he doesn't mind me chiming in.
This car is pretty neat, it's got some nice bits on it and I believe it's had some of the traditional FM geometry issues resolved.
Any racer porn?? We would love some photos.
Something like this?

that is the same set up my car is, I would wager the parts on my star masda msr are of a higher quality, this is very easy to drive and maintain, al
I put three pics up for Al.
They are small in the browser (640x480) but if you are interested, save them to your machine and they will be 3.5X larger. I got tired of fighting the web tool

Thanks for the help
The bodywork makes that car so much more sexier than a standard formula mazda.
I thought about making it into a sreet car, problem is, no room for passenger.

Im building a super car for the street, wanted something light, scary, with f-5000 power like I had in the late seventies. remember the good old days????????????????????
How do the lap times compare between the FM and the MSR?
very close. I never had new tires on it, and did 1.25s at pacific raceways, the quick mazda guys were in the 1 23s. I figure its very close as this car has 25o hp
a total taylor mk 5 geared webster done by them, rem polished balanced, all the good stuff, the gentleman I got the car from had 2 of them and spared no expense doing it. we are still friends, and you know how that goes in racing
lol so true
I have raced against one of these a few times. Car has great grunt off a turn. Would make a great hill climb car

Has this car been sold? Are the pictures of the red car the actual car?
Update: 10/9/2018 I still can't believe this car hasn't sold. Al must be pretty firm on the price. It's sure something I'd like to have, great looking, at the right price what ever that is for a potential buyer. My problem is I'm to poor to pay anything close to the asking price.

Is this car legal for p2?

On my 54th year as an SCCA member
with a special thanks to every SCCA worker (NONE OF US WOULD RACE WITHOUT THE WORKERS)
I think the engine is the only major thing that might need some study, I think it's a 3-rotor 13B and I have no idea what the intake is. I gave up on the SCCA and their engine tables a few years ago.
Think of this as a standard tube-frame Formula Mazda with shock/suspension updates, a different rotary engine package, and bodywork that doesn't look like a FM or an MSR anymore.
You'd have to ask Al for details. Phone number is in the thread.
I'm the person who sold the original MSR to Al a few years ago. I have another one with over 300 HP on a chassis dyne with a peripheral port, MoTec fuel injection and brand new state of the art AP calipers. The body work just got completed and is identical to Al's open wheel concept. We will be testing the car with Moses Smith in the next few months, when time allows. This car has 17 hours on it prior to the conversion to open wheel and the addition of the brakes and Formula Atlantic rear wheels & tires. It had too much power for the original rear tires and too much speed for the Wilwood brakes.
