If the plate says "ZV87", there is a very good chance that this is my old car. It's a 1969 Zink. My dad bought it used in 1971, and we raced it through 1976. It sat for 2 years and was then purchased by Dealin' Dave Smith from Chicago. Lost track of it after that. I would have some interest if the price is right. Back then, I sold the car, a new spare frame, a spare engine, a spare transmission, and the coolest little Zink trailer you ever saw, for $2000. I would love to see whatever info, log books, etc are with the car.

Some where along the line, the roll bar has been modified. This would not meet SCCA requirements. Other than that, this looks like a good project for restoration as a vintage FV.
Steve, Thanks for your input. As far as I am concerned, you are THE authoritative voice! The roll bar looks much like I remember, but I am not familiar with current regs, and you know what you're looking at more than I do. I remember when the SCCA changed the roll bar rules (1971?) and we had to install a thicker, beefier roll bar. Also, I remember having to add the forward braces (we didn't think we would be able to install the seat after that-luckily, we were wrong.)
Just reduced price to $5,000.00
Do you have the remaing bodywork (driver surround and the tail section(S)?

Car reported sold!
"ZV87" was built for Bill Greer. It was raced by Bill and others throughout 1969 and 1970. Bill was third in the '69 ARRC held at Daytona,a slipstreaming extravaganza if there ever was one.. The car was also a part of the American contingent sent to the Nurburgring to battle the Europeans in 1969. The cars were fitted with 1300 CC engines for that competition. It evolved into something of a "works" Zink, in that it was used by a number of drivers who needed points to get to the runoffs. The only name I clearly remember is John McCollister, who won a national at Blackhawk Farms driving this car. The car won more national races over that two year span than any other car in the country.![]()
