Default Anyone know this home built wood trailer (extremely COOL!)?

Saw this at a regional event at MidOhio last Fall. I assume it is home built. Extremely cool. Appears to drop down flat to the ground.

I never got to talk to the owner but I’d love to learn more, especially about the drop mechanism.

    Anyone know about it?

He was an ApexSpeed member at one point, he might still be lurking around here.

You should see his other trailers! There's at least 3 others that I know of. For each car he built I seem to recall him building a new trailer to go with it.

Trailer as art, like everything else he does.

My favorite Staudacher trailer was the one with the spare car mounted on the roof--two race cars, all spares, single axle and towed (if I'm not mistaken) by a Mazda 3!
I also seem to recall that his wife was an architect and their house was shown on an "Extreme Homes" episode of HGTV. It had one of his Dad's hydroplanes hanging from the ceiling and one of his planes hanging on the wall.

Jon is a master craftsman who can make anything From race cars to race boats from the smallest class up to at least 3 Miss Budweiser's to competition acrobatic airplanes.

IIRC Steve Meyers owns the particular trailer in the original post.

Not the trailer to leave outside in Florida for 15 years like my aluminum job.

That said, Jon's trailers are so efficient and compact that they work great for many folks that live in neighborhoods that don't allow trailers parked outside. Jon's fit nicely in the garage.

Truly one of the great craftsmen of our time.
