    1998 Swift 008a with 014 Updates - 1.8 hours on Hasselgren

    $38,000 (reduced price)

This Swift 008/014, Chassis #007, was purchased new and used in the Pro-Atlantic Series by Lynx Racing. Lynx had 4 008’s in its inventory at the time, and #007 was the test chassis. It also carries a CART Registration #206. According to records, after Lynx, it was stored for a number of years before it passed to a second owner who ran it 3 times after which it was acquired by a Pro-Atlantic team based in Iowa City, Iowa. Under that team, #007 qualified for the 2007 SCCA Runoffs. The Chassis was strengthened in 2000 at the Swift factory with new laminated chassis supports and the chassis upgraded to 014 with the addition of 014 tunnels, uprights, and wheels. All chassis points are scribed to match the chassis number. The powertrain has been with Hasselgren since new. The powertrain (engine, differential and gearbox) have all been rebuilt by Olsson Engineering in 2011. 1.8 hours have been run on the powertrain since that time. Body was stripped and repainted to show quality in 2014 in the existing paint scheme by Carl Haas.

The Swift is in original 008 configuration with 014 upgrades. The chassis is carbon/epoxy pre-preg with an aluminum honeycomb core monocoque. Bulkheads constructed of carbon/epoxy and aluminum for added strength and stiffness. Partially stressed engine mounted to a magnesium bellhousing with additional support provided by chrome-moly steel trunnions. Wings are Carbon/epoxy pre-preg and independently adjustable front and rear. Suspension is comprised of unequal length A-arms with multi-positioned pushrod rocker (front) and unequal length A-arms with an actuated pushrod rocker (rear), with cast magnesium uprights front and rear and cockpit adjustable blade-type anti-roll bars. Steering is Rack and Pinion with MOMO Wheel. Brakes are Brembo 4 piston calipers, fully vented cast iron 313mm x 24mm floating discs, front/rear. Differential is of Salisbury-type with various ramp options with roller shims installed and has less than 2 hours on rebuild. The gearbox is a Hewland NST 5 speed sequential with utilizing a stressed aluminum case with integral suspension mounting with less than 2 hours on rebuild. A factory manual is included.
