Roll call? Convince me to attend!
I've made a motel reservation even though I have no idea if I can go yet . Econolodge@airport.

Well, the local schedules are (mostly) out and our season planning is taking shape.
We do plan to be at both the Bristol CT and MT.
To take this a bit off topic, other 'national' events on our schedule:
Pittsburgh MT (of course ;-)
NJ Pro
Grissom MT (tentative)
Toledo Pro
Oscoda Pro
Finale/Nats (tentative)
Hope to see/meet plenty of M folks this year!
John R
I will be there, most likely on the shifter kart. I am lead to believe I will be the Chief of Sound Control. Since Bristol is known as Thunder Valley no concern about annoyed neighbors. More concern about course worker ears. Standard national rules will apply.
8 weeks to go !!!

In for the CT& wait-listed for the MT. [So much for watching the weather forecast.]
JDR... There was a cancellation so I'm in for the MT as well.
A long and tiring but good 4 days in TN!
Posting the videos below mostly for Dave - I was pleased to stay ahead of the DM J2 that got me earlier in the year in Pittsburgh, but I'm sure there was more in the car.
Also, if you heard it was a bit bumpy, see for yourself

No video from me since I forgot my camera. [ SMH - I could have learned so much more on this trip ]
John - pleasure to meet you & Vicki! Great Driving by you both!
Observations of data/speeds...
For the Match Tour course, I know in the morning I was hitting my rev limiter at the end of station 2 (along chain link fence / just before the left turn up the hill). That calculates to 64 @ 7000. Your video data shows 61 mph. For the afternoon and Tuesday morning, I shifted to 3rd after straightening out from the showcase/Danica turn just before the first double pointered cone on the left.
For the finish slalom, at the first cone, I also was at the rev limiter in 2nd. Your video shows 59. BTW, I watched a STR S2000 video of that slalom on their limiter at an indicated 61.
My straight pipe blew 99.5-100.6. My 15 disc SuperTrapp reduced it to 96. At Dixie, I hit 98.

Good to meet you also - hope you can get your hands on some fresh Hoosiers and/or a seat for Nats.
Yes, I did some side-by-side with Kyle H's STX video and it shows similar/higher speeds than my data in spots where I'm actually moving faster. Also, I usually had the tach telltale in the 6500 range on the MT course - can't be sure that wasn't in 1st or 2nd at the start, but I think it was heading into the 'wall' at station 2 and that would be ~64 mph in 3rd. So, even the spots where the data 'looks' ok is very suspect.
I meant to check the sound log due to the 'bowl' nature of the site, but it was never up when I thought to check and we never got a warning so all good, I guess :-)

On the other site, the door slammer drivers were complaining about the bumps. How did you guys find them?
C/P from 'the other site' (where I have a different user name):
OTOH... (and this is CT day 1 )Well, I agree with Kyle that CT day 2 was the worst and the worst set contributed to me not saving a slightly out of shape condition and spinning toward oncoming CPL traffic :-0
But, they were what they were and not much worse than some of the bumps at Met Life and Pitt Race, imho. We have a couple 'stick outs' on the bottom of the car and they weren't marking the pavement as badly as at the PittRace MT finish chute.
r,
John R
National didn't give out corner workers for the sound meter and therefore didn't feel the need to fill out the regular sound log sheets. I did keep a log of cars that did seem loud. The only note I have on yours is a 96.8 on Saturday morning right before the drizzle and you might have bopped the rev limiter on a shift since it seemed you were shifting close to the meter. All told probably the worst conditions to stack up with high humidity, the bowl of thunder valley and a shift in the area. Yeah, not much to worry about to stay under 100. From memory I think you were more in the 95 range. I mostly wrote down your reading as a reference to Dave's open exhaust. I went to grid and notified drivers if they were close. Called it in if they were over. Only had 1 honestly over the limit. He put mufflers back on and was comfortable to listen to as he drove by.
Mufflers cut off 4 to 5 Db.. who knew??
Bumps? anybody here ever run Forbes Field?
