Default Radical SR3 underbody skid plates

My Radical SR3 has underbody skid plates at the front corners, front center, and rear corners in front of the rear wheels. They seem to be cut from hardwood plywood.

Mine are getting sufficiently worn down that the rivet heads are about gone and the plates are getting pretty thin and ragged. Seems like these might be more suitable cut from nylon or some other modern material that might skid nicely and be durable when bottomed out. Is this something I should just cut from some suitable stock on my bandsaw or something that original hardwood plywood is somehow the most suitable material for? Any reason I shouldn't just cut some new ones out using the thinned ones as templates? What's the preferred material to cut these from?

The preferred material is Jabroc -- available from Pegasus

    Comes in various thicknesses.

I've tried plastics and metals, and Jabroc is the best balance between drag, durability and cost.

That looks like the material of my current skid plates. I just didn't know what it was. Thanks for the lead!
