That could work, but I'd like to attach something that my experience tells me is absolutely sure to work. I'm trying to avoid something that would need experimentation.

Called them and it's, unfortunately, too small. The opening is only 1" diameter. 50% larger and I would have bought one.

Probably would've worked okay if you were going 300 mph though.

Something like this, turned upright with an appropriate mounting flange? You could adjust the height as needed.

    Just a thought.

That'd work on my '93 RX7, but I can't see how I could adapt it to the side of my F2000.

Get some wax. Carve out the form you like. Lay-up material over it. Melt out wax. Repeat for side B.

That could be an option, but I'm still trying to do it the lazy man's way - buy something that will work. I'll get more serious next week after M-O this weekend.

    Default Design

    Dave,

As Jim mentioned, I'm currently involved with 3D printing. Below, I've come up with one example. I based the design off of current F1 air ducts and intakes. Realistically, any size or shape you can dream up is possible. We can even add webbing inside for directional flow if desired.

Wow. That's pretty neat. I'll send a detailed sketch after this weekend (Mid-Ohio races), and you can let me know if you can make it, what material you would use, and how much it would cost me. PM an email if that's OK, and I'll send it that way.

I forgot to hit post and when I finally did I was beat to punch so I've deleted my comment.

    Default Deja Vu

What you been doing the last 8 years, Dave?
    - just make sure I'm not misunderstood that is a lighthearted question
    - was looking for something else and stumbled over the attached from 2009.

I'm not using those fairings - haven't in quite a few years - they wound up being in the way of working on the car too much of the time.

"3D Parts" is where I wound up getting the shock scoop made. Steve L. constructed an .IGS model, they printed 2 of them for a great price, and they were shipped yesterday. I should have them by the weekend.

See the "Retail Business Feedback" section for their information.
