    Default Route to the runoffs

A quick show of hands, anyone follow the Divisional route to get to the Runoffs in the last few years?

I looked at it last year and talked to several others who had explored it. It is clearly harder to get there than doing majors, because the selection of events to choose from is so much smaller. It is one of those SCCA "better ideas" that looks good on paper, but is not worth that paper it is written on. With the revised 2017 process, the divisional route becomes even less attractive. The only reason to consider that route, was if you wanted to do those races anyway.

Answering your question; I believe Flinn Lazier did the divisional route last year, and that turned out well for him with a 2nd place finish
