    Default FA Rental?

Not sure if this is the correct forum or not, but I thought I'd give it a shot. It's been a while since I last raced (late 80's). I'll be going back to racing school next March and getting my competition license again. But because I'll only be doing it part-time, I thought about renting a ride instead of purchasing. Any ideas or suggestions on where to start? Thanks in advance.

    Default FC?

If you're willing to consider FC instead of FA, and some travel is included (Im in Michigan) we should talk. I have an FC available for rent, with a number of weekends already spoken for.

PM if interested, and I'll send contact info. Cheers,

    Cade

I'd try calling Kevin at Comprent Motorsports out of Atlanta.

Not to steal bread from my boss' mouth, but is an FA the best choice after 30 years away?

Maybe ask Kevin about FE/SRF rentals

Not to mention the fact that FC, FE, FM are all faster than FA's were 30 years ago.

If I had the coin, I would be renting the fastest and coolest thing around. I don't care how competitive I was, I would be racing damn Vintage F1 in a Ferrari if the pocket book supported it.

GO FA!! Comprent is Awesome and so is K-HIll.

Sorry, not meant as an insult. I was just using Sears Point as a reference in my brain. I'm almost 47 now and I've been around SCCA since I was 7, my dad raced in the Formula alphabet group before me. And I was using the lap times as comparison.

Like most people if I had the money, I would love to race an FA

No offense taken.....the. Lap times of the 30 year old RT4/86 were very quick, especially in the hands of Goodyear, Fish, O'Connell, Marvin, Vasser, etc.....tunnels and good BDA's gave better times than your comparison group....at least on the right Coast.

Left coast too. 32 years ago, Marvin's fastest lap at Sears was a 1:28.6. McKay in 9th place got down to a 28.4!

I'm guessing these were 83/84 RT4's.....the 86 was even quicker than the best 83...imo !

Default more than slightlly off the wall suggestion.....

a fair number of my old atlantic mates said the ralt rt-1 was the most fun to drive of the atlanttic cars.

probably not too many of them for rent these days but if there are i'm sure you can get a lead on them here,

There is a big difference between Pro results and club results. Just saying. I can dig out old results from club races if you guys would like.

But to get back on topic.

Call Kevin at Comprent for a rental. And yes Atlantics are very fast.
