    Default Mirrors

Does anyone know where to get mirrors that are the same size and shape as these (with the adjustable interior glass) but made of a heavier, more robust material? The carbon fiber mirrors are so fragile...

I know there are mirrors with the same shape, but the entire shell of the mirror moves to adjust the view. I don't want that type of mirror

    TIA

I don't think I have seen what you are looking for before. Generally, if you are looking for something that small & aero, you're after a Carbon piece anyway.

With that being said, I would also not really recommend super-extra small mirrors on a FV, because you need to be able to see way more than most other classes when we are in a large pack. As we saw at the Glen this weekend, knowing what is all around at all times is an absolute must.

i used to run my mirrors mounted to the top of the shock mounts and had excellent views

do not mount mirrors on flimsy bodywork make sure it is reinforced and that the bodywork to which it is attached ALWAYS gets mounted in exactly the same position

btw are there minimum limits in the racing rules regarding the reflective surface area of mirrors?

the older i get, the more mirror i want ("aging" vision does not help)

"i used to run my mirrors mounted to the top of the shock mounts and had excellent views"

Wouldn't recommend this as they could get knocked out of alignment during a session and then you can't correct them.

"do not mount mirrors on flimsy bodywork make sure it is reinforced and that the bodywork to which it is attached ALWAYS gets mounted in exactly the same position"

    Agreed.

"btw are there minimum limits in the racing rules regarding the reflective surface area of mirrors?"

Have never seen or heard this.

"the older i get, the more mirror i want ("aging" vision does not help)"

    Most definitely.
