SISTech confirm SCCA Homologation of S1 SportsRacer and Formula Racecar

SAN FRANCISCO, CA.-May 14, 2003
— SISTech, the San Francisco based US importer of the Formula S1 and SportsRacer S1 Racecars, announced the homologation today of their racecar by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). This will allow the racecar to compete in SCCA Sanctioned race events throughout the United States. The design approval, known as homologation, was completed by the SCCA for both D SportsRacer and Formula S classes.
“We are delighted the Sports Car Club of America has confirmed our design meets the stringent requirements to race in SCCA sanctioned events,” said Ian Sweeney, SISTech Owner. “This was the last hurdle we had to overcome to bring our ground-breaking new S1 racer to the SCCA racing masses. It also signifies the opening of our books for orders to the many excited buyers who have been contacting us. We look forward to the first US car hitting the track in the near future”.
The SISTech S1 embodies the concept of an exciting new racecar with outright speed and contemporary technology - all at an affordable price. An interesting aspect of the design is the ability to race the car in both open wheel and closed wheel configuration in the same day - Formula S1 and SportsRacer S1 respectively. This opens up many opportunities for racers – two drivers can share a single car, one racing open wheel, the other closed in one day, or an owner can race in one configuration and rent the car in another.
Founded in 2002, based in San Francisco, Ca, SISTech is the sole importer of the Formula S1 and SportsRacer S1. SISTech also runs the “works” race team that will campaign the S1 in events throughout the United States.
