Default RF 96 Ready to Race

I am reluctantly putting my RF 96 up for sale. I have just come to the realization that I will not have any time to race it for the next 2-3 years and would rather it be raced than sit in my garage.

The car is completely ready to race. I had it out for a test and tune last Friday where I also took care of getting an SCCA Annual on the car.

-Brand New Aim Evo 3 Data Logger with G-Dash Still has plastic wrap on dash
    -Updated cam and light flywheel.
-3 sets OZ wheels with Rains mounted on one set. A couple sets of used Avon's to go with
    -Belts good until 2018
    -New battery in 2014
    -23 gear sets
-Extra Belville washers and shims for adjusting Mono Shock
-New rear Averill Racing Stuff lower wing in 2014
    -New oil cooler in 2014.
    -Spare (Slightly damaged) lower wing
    -Spare upper rear wing
    -Spare Front Wing half
    -Spare Pushrods and control arms
    -Spare Crush Box
    -Spare Nose
    -Spare Tripod Joints
    -Spare Front and rear Uprights
    -Spare Hubs
    -Spare Rotors
    -Spare LD20 Calipers
    -Spare Exhaust
-Extra Break Pads (KFP and Hawk)
    -Front and Rear Quick Jacks
-Single axle tilt bed trailer with electric brakes
    -Conduit Canopy
    -Setup Sheets will be included

I am sure I am missing a couple spares but that is the bulk of it.

Price: $14,000 I am willing to split up the package or remove data system to reduce price. If you are interested, send me a message, I'm sure we can come to a deal.

Not selling spares separate until the car is sold.

Engine had 0 hours when I purchased the car. I put 2 seasons on it at ~5 races per season.

It was a Farley engine at some point but was told when I purchased it that the latest rebuild was not done by Farley.

    Default RF 96

Too bad for Chris, lucky for someone else !
The car (and driver) was getting faster each time out. The handling was realling getting dialed-in with his calculated approach to it, and I think his recent steps were to make it faster yet. He was one of the few racers as of late, that would dig into his vehicle's winter maintenance, as soon as the season was finished.

    Default Dash

If and when a sale happens I would be interested in the dash system and a price. You know me and corey Collins at westroc. As far as the sale goes I'll jump over and give you cash. No I am not in a hurry really as this is for the second car which has a way to go before it's ready for daylight. Jim Roberts

$17,000 or offer. I don't want to see this sit in a garage another season it should be raced!

    Make an offer!

    Default Free Monoshock Shuttle

    Dear new or previous owner,

if you want a spare monoshock shuttle, all you have to do is pay for shipping from area code 06812, and it is yours. I went to twinshock on the RF96R (Renault) chassis and have the shuttle sitting on a shelf. Visibly it looks identical, and having a spare might be a good investment

Can I race this in the FC SCCA class as it sits? And is the engine competitive? How much is an engine rebuild?

    Loaded questions.....

Yes, can be raced SCCA FC class....

Engine competitive? It's not just the engine. Chassis is a big factor.
I think the last time a mid 90's car ran the runoffs was 2014...

This car could teach you alot.

Most of todays front of the pack started with these cars.

Okay, I have been told to check out the GLC as well, but am having a hard time finding a website. Is it possible to make this car competitive in SCCA at all? Thats not a deal breaker for me, just curious.

I think the driver is by far the biggest factor. In theory, per the SCCA GCR, this car should be even with the latest VD or RFR. But there are many opinions.

This car is priced at the bottom of what a race ready FC sells for. And many extras.

I think Averill organizes the GLC. http://www.racing-stuff.com/

Just checking sizing. How tall is the blue-helmeted driver in the pics? Is he pretty much sitting on the floor as the cockpit pic shows?
    Thanks

I own a 96VD, am 6"2, 220lbs. I sit on the floor with a thin cushion and have a seat back from foam. I'm well under the broomstick. Without the seat back, I can lean so far back as to not be able to see out of the car, like a little kid in a cadillac.

That is me in the picture. I measure 5'8" but also have a 5-6" thick foam seat in the car. If I take that out there is no way I could reach the peddles.

Yes, I am more or less sitting on the floor.

From what I have seen some very large drivers >6' fit in the 96 without issue.
