    Default Temps

I know this info. is in here somewhere, but before I head to Daytona I just wanted to update my alarm led's on my dashboard with the latest temp. settings. Can someone tell me the "if I don't stop I'm going to blow up" temperatures for oil and CHT?

    Thanks,
    Garry

    Default Cht

    Gary

I posted the results of our experiment with two different scoops on Sam's Acer J at Gingerman last year. Just look at formula-first.org in a post called "Actual data on CHT". Also high CHT will affect oil temp. Last year at the Corvette Museum track with 98 degrees ambient nobody reported oil temps over 250.

    Danger, Will Robinson!

You are using stock OEM style bearings. That is all that is available. Latest formulations are very soft so as to easily absorb abrasive material in the oil. You are playing with fire above 230-240 deg.

Oil changes one viscosity grade for every 30 degs of temperature change.
