looking forward to one of the best tracks in the US.
Steve Bamford
Congratulations to Steve on the win today.
Congratulations to the Rice race prep guys also. They dealt with a problem that would have sent most people home (broken gearbox in Q1) and got Steve back on the track a few hours later with a very good car. Very impressive.

Thanks Wren. The team did an awesome job getting the car back together and when needed advice was given from other teams in the paddock which is great to see. I can't thank them enough, we got to the grid just in time.
Congratulations to you guys as well for a very impressive pole and P2 finish in a hard fought race.

Congrats to the winner and especially Dave W in fifth in the oldest car there. Great finish. Were there many yellows? Weather?

I imagine that LaRue will hit the Glen.
Thanks, Jim and Tim, and everyone else who congratulated us!
RA was a VERY enjoyable weekend. The car is now the fastest it has ever been on the F2K radials. We finally had some shock settings that worked (thanks to Steve L. who valved them and to all the Citation guys and others who provided input). We made setup changes after every session (7 times including test day) and went faster every time out.
If it wasn't for a 10-32 Jet nut that unscrewed and left an Allen screw come out of my shift linkage (my own cheap-a** mistake for re-using stuff when new would be better) and left me in 4th gear on lap 5, we would have had another top 6 finish.
I felt for the 1st time since we've been running the F2KCS that I really enjoyed driving the car, and felt that unless I made a bone-headed mistake, I had no fear of spinning!
Things are looking VERY good for the rest of the season! Aiming now for some overall podiums and maybe even better.

Congrats to Steve and his team. I walked past while they were in the middle of the ring and pinion thrash and thought they would never make the grid. Amazing work and terrific drive to the win and then repeated on Sunday. Well done!
Thanks everybody for the kind words. We had a very solid weekend.
As I was driving home, I was trying to figure why more people are not taking advantage of this great class racing at these great tracks with this great format. Lots of economic, social, and political excuses can be used, but at the end of the day, this is clearly the best value in our part of the world. What is the point of having a test program but never racing? What is the point of filling the USF fields for a season before being kicked to the curb next year? What is the point in racing against two other FC cars in SCCA Formula Alphabet? What is the point of leaving your F2000 car in the garage because you think someone disrespected you? You've got 4 weeks to get your car ready for one of the best race tracks in the world. Be there!
