I'm in the planning stages for the Runoffs at Mid-Ohio and was wondering if there is anything near there that would be worth coming in an extra day to see, any one have a suggestion?

Big Bone Lick State Park - You can't make this stuff up!
a walk through the real Nelson Ledges park, (what ever it is called) is not a bad addition to the trip
and check out the frogs legs on the menus around Warren Ohio
AND check out the Amish buggies but do not crash into them
plus there is some island in Lake Erie where they used to run road races
otherwise i would just drive three hours to Indianapolis

Cleveland Museum of Art
Cleveland Science Center
Tour the home from the movie A Christmas Story (leg lamp and all)
Outstanding dining in downtown Cleveland including Michael Simon restaurants

These are all available in Cleveland which is one hour and thirty minutes from MO. I commute to MO from Cleveland for all races.

Mansfield correctional institute. It is now a museum, but IIRC they made the green mile or shawshank redemption there. Have been told it is a good side trip.

Mrs Frog used to like to "antique" on the backroads of the area (e.g. Bellville, etc.), and buy baked goods from the Amish at their roadside stands.
This! What a treasure trove of aircraft - many the only ones left, and it's till FREE! And the new 4th building opens in June

The only problem is that you will need a full day at the museum. And that is with the new building.
And that is just picking and choosing what exhibits you read the signage with.
I live in Dayton so I am lucky and can spend half a day here and there and not have to hurry.
