Default Formula Atlantic & FB Reunion at Thunderhill, 4-29 to 5-1

[B]CSRG is having an Atlantic/FB Reunion for cars through 1986

If you have an RT4, Anson, Tiga, Argo, March, Chevron, Tui, GRD, Lola, Brabham, Winkelmann, LeGrand ---i.e. any Formula B or Atlantic car built through 1986 you are eligible.

The aim is to show off the history of Atlantic cars by bringing together as many different examples as possible along with their Formula B predecessors.

    Some details:

Where: Thunderhill Three Mile East course

    When: April 29-May 1

Exclusive Race Group: Assuming we get 20 cars or more by mid-March, the Atlantics/FB will run in their own Race Group

Sound Requirement: Unlimited during certain hours & there's a high probability that this group will run during the open exhaust period.

    Sessions per day: 3

    Saturday Night Social

Awards for Presentation & Performance for each class.

The cars will be divided into three classes for any Formula B or Atlantic car built through 1986.

In general Monoposto rules apply for Class I & II cars & SCCA rules for Class III cars. Any questions or concerns? Contact Jon Norman: 510.525.9435 or jrnalfa@pacbell.net or respond through this thread

Class I—FB: Formula B cars built through 1972, such as (but not limited to): Brabham BT 29, 35, March 71B, 72B, Chevron B16, B18, B20, Lotus 59, 69, GRD, etc. with engines per period rules.

Class II—FA: Flat bottom Atlantic cars from 1973 through 1979 such as (but not limited to): March 73B to 79B, Ralt RT1, Chevron B25 through B49, Brabham BT38 & BT40, Lola T360 to T560, etc. with Cosworth BDD engines.

Class III—FA: Atlantic Ground effect cars built from 1979 through 1986 such as (but not limited to): Ralt RT4, Tiga FA82 through FA84, Anson SA2, SA4, March 80A & up with either BDD or Toyota engines.

    Tires:

Avon 011 or Hoosier for Groups I & II. Open for Group III

Drivers must qualify & race on same set of tires unless there is a force majeure.

Seeing as F1000 didn't begin until about 2005, I don't think you'll have a big turn out. But the FA's should put on a good show.

This event has nothing to do with F1000. It's for formula Atlantic & Formula B race cars.

There is no limitation on the manufacturer, only the year of manufacture. We will accept any Atlantic car built through 1986---flat bottom or otherwise.

We will accept any Atlantic car built through 1986---flat bottom or otherwise & we will divide them into three classes--FB, flat bottom & ground effects.

Yup, but the Atlantics/FBs would be the feature group, have more track time than at the SVRA event & we will have some past Atlantic champions attending. The whole event is geared around that feature. It wouldn't be just another run group as it would be at the SVRA event. Lastly, Thunderhill Three Mile is a great track.

I'm really looking forward to this. CSRG turns out a great event and the cars that show up are always well presented with some good drivers.
