Default Can anyone identify the class this car ran in?

Someone sent me these photos wondering if it was an early Formula Vee. It isn't but I didn't have an answer for him. It is a Porsche 356-type motor (the exhaust ports are vertical slots), split transaxle, wide-5 bolt pattern wheels but it is rear engine, not mid engine. Anyone have any ideas what it is?

The registration photo is actually for a 1960 porsche that was registered in Moron Argentina on august 23, 1974 (thanks to my wife who knows Spanish!). Maybe the engine and trans in the photos came out of that car. Anyone know of a formula car class in South America that would have a rear engine porsche?

The front suspension crossmember appears to be from an NSU, either TT or Prinz. Only reason I know is from my NSU based DelFosse Formula 4.

Kurt DelFosse built about a dozen tube frame NSU based formula cars and sports racers in Argentina, then moved to San Diego in the early 60's. If you do a google image search you will find some examples of his designs. He was very resourceful with smallbore racers and light weight designs.

Look down about 2/3rds down this ebay page:

Definitely looks like an NSU front suspension. Missing the rack and lower arms.
