    Default Hewland Mk8 5 speed - HELP!!!

I am putting my Mk8 5 speed back together and SWEAR up and down I am doing it correctly! That said, once together, when I pull the shift fingers out to the neutral position, the car does not appear to be in neutral.

Any thoughts or advice is appreciated!

If all the rails are in neutral but the car isn't, the only logical explanation I can think of is that the first reverse sliding gear fell off the fork, not uncommon on the MK boxes. When you put it all together the slider is pushed forward engaging reverse.

If you have anymore questions feel free to call us at the shop.

    Default Manual

There is a Hewland manual on-line that might help.
