Anybody know of any indoor trailer storage areas in South Florida? As it stands now I am anchoring to the ground with tie downs about 30" deep, Looking for a structure that can withstand a Cat 1 or 2.

How big? Maybe a 10x30 U-Store unit? Rent for a month?

Is there a shopping mall near by with multi-level parking? maybe you can fit in at ground level for the few hours of concern?
Thats my plan. Shopping center or airport parking lot as far away from trees and light standards as possible. Stii have to deal with blowing debris. But better than having a tree drop across the coach!
I'm currently scheduled to haul my race trailer ONTO Key Biscayne Sunday night. Great planning.
The last few blows I've moved the trailer to open spaces. But it requires rotating it to keep it pointed into the breeze. 80 mph in an open area can roll a trailer.
For me, a one hour tow inland (into S. Georgia) usually gets it out of any wind issue. lots of friends with farms up there. I park it in a field or the lee side of a barn.
I'll take a Cat 5 hurricane over a big earthquake any day.
My brother (SoCal native) moved to Houston 2 days before the remnants of Katrina came through. He'd disagree....
What's the fear of an earthquake? You get all the same damage with a hurricane (and then some), just no rock'n and roll'n....
I just think the flooding, drowning, flying debris, building collapsing, live electrical wires everywhere, shutdown road system is more inconvenient....
Granted I've never been in a hurricane (a Cyclone @ Sea), but I've sleep through 5.5 earthquakes....
I said "big earthquake". Not a little 5.5
Buildings collapsing suddenly.
Highway bridges collapsing on folks.
Tsunami
Fractured gas lines with resulting fire.
No water pressure to fight fires.
Transportation route failure
When "the big one" happens on the left coast it will make Katrina look like a walk in the park.
With a Cat 5 I have time to prepare/flee/etc.
YMMV
5.5 is what I sleep through.......
So, what you are comparing is a potential, possible, what has never happened but might, someday, off the scale earthquake that gives Nevada beachfront property.....
That's like you getting a "Cat 10" hurricane.
If it happens, no preparation will ever matter short of launching yourself into space.....
And the east coast does get quakes. Rarely but are you prepared?

Runoffs 3-4 weeks out... central Florida, in middle of hurricane season...makes one wonder.
ARRC's in the 60's were much later in the season....less chance...but that was the 60's, too...
Hoping operational manual/planning from KS. have taken those issues into plans...
Wishing you the best, will be in NJ for Elva 60th reunion,...only storm that way is on the DC beltway getting there and home...
One my first races: worked at War Bonnet, a tornado tipped over the flatbed trailer used for timing...folks would have thought an enclosed trailer as a "shelter", not something to worry about storing inside....times do change.. those were the days!
Okie
The sky is falling the sky is falling...........Erika will be a putz
Not just the sky falling over near your...seems the ground disappears too!
Right on Erica..all safe for now...
(Opal, Erin, Ivan, Arleen, Dennis were influential past visitors, over this way...we "seasoned" duffers pay attention during the season,..... particularly now with Citizens... there's a true putz!)
Okie...
When my garage was built - special attention was paid not only to the size of the garage but also to the size of the garage door. I can put the dual axle 18 ft. box trailer which is tall enough to stand up inside of - inside my garage and close the garage door.
Charlie's eye passed right over my house
