That is even better than Pete Lovely's method to put a Lotus 49 on a VW transporter.

It's an early Formula 3 car, but yes 500cc Norton and JAP motors mostly. Pretty cool!

Only an Englishman could so complicate the dead-simple process of transporting a tiny formula car to the race track...

My fav tow rig was a 1978 Ford E100 Van with a 300 cubic inch straight 6 engine with a 3 speed stick. It was the extended wheelbase and body model that I bought for about $1000.

I modified the rear doors so that they would open about 120 degrees. I then widened the door opening frame about 2" on each side. I also widened the gap between the inner fenders by a couple of inches on each side.

I towed my first F440 inside that van for a few year.s I even had a plywood bed over the car and slept in the truck most of the time.

Won a ton of races with that rig and a no $$ budget. Went to the 86 Runoffs with that setup and had to cash the tow money check to get home. Still remember those days, lots of fun and madness too.
    Thanks ... Jay Novak
