I wonder what he did or said. I think I'd wait and see before signing a petition.
Apparently he threw a punch at a producer. Although no source was provided.

Probably not wise of me to sign an online petition without knowing what actually happened... But in my defence I've had a boring day at the office and had nothing better to do
Where's the petition to keep him off the screen!
I won't miss him. I for one got tired of this pasty dough boy calling Americans fat almost every episode.
Watched him once. That was enough.
There are millions of people who watch the show because of him and he is by far the star of the show. He has pushed his limits with the BBC before so this shouldn't be a surprise. He has a huge ego and that helps make him entertaining. The show would not survive, IMO, with James May as the host. I enjoy watching captain slow as co-host but Top Gear would not be the same without Clarkson. Have you seen the U.S. version of it & do you think it comes close to the viewership worldwide?
If BBC gets rid of him perhaps they could hire Ashton Kutcher?

It is still a great show even though he does get carried away at times but that is what makes it. If you don't like it, change the channel. The US version is lame in comparison n my opinion.

I know nothing about the fracas, but I simply cannot understand the indignation over Clarkson's past off-color comments. I suspect that everyone who watches the show is aware that Clarkson has an outsized ego and is known for making over-the-top remarks. The fact that he says something derogatory about Mexicans, Asians, or any other group doesn't mean that I am therefore going to adopt those insinuations as my own beliefs. (I also disagree with many of the things he says about the cars that are featured on the show.) People have the ability to change the channel if they find something too offensive to bear. Political correctness wears me out.
We should start one of those presidential petitions to offer him asylum here! I love his humor and feel he's more American than British.
Lmao, yellow teeth, good one.
I do not believe his dismissal is due to political correctness, nor do I care....I think he had a punch up (slap fight) with another Englishman, perfectly acceptable in the book of political correctness.
More than likely the guy who booked their accommodations in Burma !!
Looks like it is going to cost BBC big dollars & Clarkson will come out with more money later on.

He isnt stupid. Tack it up to a negotiating tactic with the bbc.
Let him go. I liked the show at first but now its too formulaic - you know for the most part how a skit or situation will end and Clarkson is so bloody childish. If he wants to be provocative put him on "The View" (or whatever that show is).
I still watch the show occasionally, but since I have DVR I can skip though what I don't want to see. The celeb in the car and I think the STIG laps are all real and not edited.

Sounds like he hit one of the show's Assistant Producers when there was no hot food spread after a day of shooting. He deserves whatever suspension and fines come his way.
Sometimes, people believe they are larger than life and need to be brought back down to size. I'm sure the BBC is running out of patience with him.
I love the show and think the BBC would be mad to let him go. I like 5th gear too, but it doesn't have the zany quality and awesome locations of Top Gear. Just make him apologize live on the next show directly to the producer and have the poor guy on stage with him, if he's willing. He was on probation for questionable comments on camera (which the BBC were stupid enough to not edit), not for behaving badly off camera in a hotel. The behavior was wrong, so let him make amends. The show is watched by billions and shown in most of the world and the photography and locations are fantastic. For instance, it was eerie that they were in Crimea, just before Putin annexed it and the Chernobyl drive was awesome. I still laugh whenever my daughter alerts me to a "Rozzer" on the highway. Clarkson may be a bit of a twit sometimes, but he makes the show work and isn't above being made fun of; he often refers to himself as fat. If they were to let him go, the show would end up like 2 and a half men; did anyone watch it after Charlie Sheen left? What other show can have Slash, Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, current Formula one drivers, and many others all come as guests and be themselves? If they axe him, I hope he takes James and Richard to ITV and starts a new show.
I think that the best solution is to send him back to work and just have cameras follow him around 24/7. Having him occasionally punch a producer over a lack of hot food would make me more likely to watch.
The reality is that he is in demand. He will land on his feet no matter what. As long as your talents exceed your problems, you will always be ok.
But then they'd have to move to Winchester instead of their London pads Sort of a step down but I always thought Winchester was a wonderful town.
And you'd have to go to church in Winchester Cathedral instead of Westminster Abby

I dunno, I tried real hard to get into this show, 'cause all the cool people think it's the greatest, I thought the skits are sometimes funny but mostly silly, I'm not that consumed with auto exotica, I don't care about the latest sedan from Citroen or Sterling or whatever the Euros are driving to tea time...I'll give Clarkson the ultimate American indignation, "Uh...who?"

In the article:
"The verbal abuse was sustained over a longer period" and "contained the strongest expletives and threats to sack" Mr Tymon, who believed he had lost his job.
Guess what Mr. Tymon.... you've lost your job now....
Why? Still doesn't sound like the guy did anything wrong other than not duck quick enough. It's not like he was an intern. They guy worked there for almost 10 years.
They'll find someone to replace Clarkson, or all of them if they need to. The show was around long before May, Clarkson and Hammond, and will likely continue without one or all of them.
Mr Tymon did not file a formal complaint and it is understood Clarkson reported himself to BBC bosses following the incident.
Tymon isn't losing his job. He is a well respected BBC producer and will go on to produce other programs. The boss of the BBC said as much in his official announcement of Clarkson's dismissal.

My comment is not about the producer, its about the continuation of the show. No show, no job.....
Its not a defense of Clarkson who clearly can be an a$$.
My prediction is the rights will be sold and the new company will hire the trio....
It might still air on BBC....
