Attached are a few pictures of the car. The original mag LeGrand wheels were not safe to use so I built 2 new sets

email kabover at hotmail dot com for more pictures including fabrication of new frame, front and rear uprights, plug and body mold, plus little stuff.

That's nuts!! A hulking great engine bolted to a set of wheels....love it!

    Default Numbers

Speaking of numbers, any special reason why you chose #89 for your LeGrand?

    Mike,

I believe #89 may have been one of the numbers it ran in its former life, when it was run regionally in California. The notable identifier on this chassis is the rectangular-shaped rollbar that it has had for the past 40-some years.

As Jacques says, the car spent its life on the left coast. If anyone has old pictures from the S.F. area of that car, please let us know.

    Jacques,
So this one is not the #89 that you and I presented with Sam Posey at Watkins Glen? This is another #89 LeGrand?

I don't recognize the LeGrand in the photo you supplied. Forgive me if I seem confused. I just keep getting older.

    Default Pointless Wing

So, after the mighty bank of intakes and filters, followed by the oil cooler, is there actually any air left to flow over that wing? Bet a wind tunnel would just show a sink vortex swirling down those hungry mouths...

It is Oh-so-easy to criticize 1960's equipment with 21st century technology.

More a comment on the intake stack!! That beast must consume prodigious air. As the previous commenter noted, merely a motor with wheels.

    Quite the beast
