Well, that was sort of misleading. This was a wizzy bit 15+ years ago. It's a fixture for making Mysterian M-2 "soft contact" push/bump guards. I was digging deep in the garage and found it in a box.
The fixture will come with one bump guard, but without the "soft" padding. We had these on for "no hassle pushing". Here is how it worked. We attached high density foam to the pad and the pushing car could push without worrying to much about closing speeds or nose damage. The SCCA official would ALWAYS look at the nose of the pusher for damage. Never once did they look at the receiving car. Greg Buttery and myself used this feature quite often in those old days.
It's for a Mysterian M-2, but you never know if it might fit something else.
May come in handy for next year at Daytona.
