    Default Falken Tires

I have a third party who is trying to make contact with the Canadian drivers who are using the radial tires (Falken?), and would appreciate any available number to reach the tire company, distributor or driver who is selling those radials to you?

    Thanks!

The Canadians were organizing a group buy, for logistics reasons rather than pricing.

We bought ours in the US. Sears, Pepboys, Discount, etc. Your choice. Often discounts for 10 or more.

    Default Falken tires

The third party that Mark referred to is me- actually, it is for an Australian customer who finds himself without tires since Dunlop has shut down.
I guess I should have posted the questions myself as I still need some info to send to the Aussies- what size tire is being used and what rim size?

    That would help a lot

    Thanks

    Mark,

I got mine from Discount Tire Direct.. They deliver them to your door. Mine are 2 years old and they were delivered for a total cost of $300.

Default Falken tire use in Formula Vee in Canada

We have used the Falken Tire as our only tire for the last 2 years. Work well rain or dry. Last for 5 race weekends, 30x 10 lap races, no quality or life issues.
We bulk buy from Vulcan Tire and this year from Discount Tire, normally 32-40 tires per order. Ends up costing us about $150.00 Cdn per tire, includes our local tax plus 6.5% import duty since they are not made in a NAFTA country.

So you pay $600 Cdn a set? Or roughly $560 US a set?

    Default Falken tires.

I've found these tires priced at anywhere from $84.00 to $104.00 in the US. The wheels are pretty affordable, better if you have a bulk buy as they don't have a huge call for the wide 5 VW bolt pattern. I like the concept and the longevity of the tires.

If you are in Chicago, what difference does it make what they cost in Canada? There are links above where you can buy the tires shipped to your door for $84 each.

I see quite a few responses but nothing that directly answers your questions.

Based on the link provided and Greg's comment about price I am going with "195/60-14"

Don't know about rim size, but safe to say not your standard 4.5 x 15" Type 1 wheel

I'm with Daryl here and wonder about the rim/wheel requirement. Any details guys?

What is the effective circumference of that tire? Our Hooisers run 69 to 70 in dia. If the Falken run much smaller, we're going to have a gearing issue that might require a long box.

23.2" on a 6" wide rim according to Falken.

    http://falkentire.com/tires/car-tire...is-rt615k-tire

    Gives a 72.88" circumference.

    Tires are 19# each.

Wheels? sub 10# should be fairly easy to source given a 14 x 6 size.

    Wow, is that without air

Apparently the info on the Falken site is based on 44psi inflation pressure, unladen.

In Canada 14/16psi are the usual pressures.
