Default The Title of this Forum

Question to all: "The Fallen" is generally a term reserved for the military dead; in particular, individuals who have fallen in battle.

The use of the term for deceased racers (or just plain friends), seams unusual.

Anyone else bump on the use of the word "fallen" in the title of this forum?

    Thanks,

    Chris

Personally I think it is quite appropriate.

Since racers are all one brotherhood in a common endeavor.

I believe it to be a respectful term. Certainly one that those in our military have earned.

It is a term that firefighters and law enforcement use as well.

Doesn't bother me, a fallen brother is a fallen brother. (or sister)

Default Respect if used as intended

    Chris,

I did not associate the term only with military deaths but then I did not serve in any of the arms of the military.

I did serve in the military (Vietnam) and I don't find the use of the term in this Forum objectionable in any way. It's intended as a term of respect and honor to those who have gone before us. HAND SALUTE!

I will admit that when I see the title of this section, I remember back.. and that's okay

I have a relative that was involved in drafting the United States Constitution, Grandfather was in WW1, Father in WW2, me, too young for Viet Nam, too old for the Gulf, etc. We all fight/strive for what we believe in, country, family... racing ,etc. It's all about respect, it's what we live for. In this group of friends it's about being racers.

The pioneers that came before us, allow us to enjoy the life and racing we have today and tomorrow, they all deserve our respect.
