Default 2014 FF Feature Race at High Plains Raceway

August 2-3, 2014 Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing (RMVR) is again hosting a Formula Ford Feature race weekend. Like last year, all FFs and CFs, both vintage and contemporary, are welcome. We're hoping to top last year's attendance of thirty-nine FFs. It was a blast. Those FF racers who attended last year can attest it was a great weekend.

It will once again be held in conjunction with RMVR's Race Against Kids' Cancer (RAKC), our fourth annual fund raising event benefiting the Morgan Adams Foundation (MAF). Please put this really fun event on your race calendar for 2014. Subscribe to this thread and we'll let you know when online registration is open and of additional details as they develop.

    • A chance to race on the exciting High Plains Raceway.
    • An open track practice day on Friday (Purchased directly via HighPlainsRaceway.com)
    • A large grid of FFs racing on Saturday & Sunday.
    • Lots of track time!
    • Help us support MAF by entering this event or even making a voluntary contributions.
    • A very special Ross Bentley Racing Seminar the evening of July 31st (the Thursday before the race weekend). Ross is the author of "Speed Secrets" and a driving coach for many pro drivers. (This is an extra, but very reasonable, cost. Details TBA)
    • And yes, we do plan on having the Grid Girls back! No need to suffer sun stroke on the pre-grid.

You might want to do a little something to support MAF now. How, you ask? Well, after the 2013 event, MAF created a very cool Grid Girls 2014 Calendar.

For each month is a different exotic car is featured along with one of the 2013 Grid Girls. If the above cover of the calendar isn't enough to tweak your interest, here's teaser showing just the October page.

This nifty Grid Girl 2014 Calendar (everyone should own one!) can be purchased directly from MAF's website for $20. All proceeds go to MAF thus benefiting research of children's cancer.

Thanks for your considering our 2014 event. Should be fun.

Just a few updates on our Charity Race which will once again have Formula Ford as the feature grid. Last year we had 39 FFs and hope to top that this year.

In the earlier post the Ross Bentley seminar (on Thursday evening before the weekend) was mentioned. It'll be held somewhere in the Denver metro area, price is still pending but maybe $50 to $75. A good deal for some "Speed Secrets."

Here's some additional incentives we're offering to help raise funds for MAF.

    • Everyone who raises $500 or more for MAF will be receiving a ticket to attend the Ross Bentley seminar for free!
    • The top 5 highest fund raisers will enjoy a personal semi-private coaching day, on-track, from Ross on Friday's lapping day at HPR (Payment of HPR's usual track day fee will be required.)
    • Fundraisers who bring in more than $500 will be entered into a drawing to win free race entries for a future RMVR event. There will be two free entries drawn at the Saturday night banquet.
    • All participants that fund raise over $50 will receive the 2014 Race Against Kids’ Cancer t-shirt and a poster.

While we'd like to see all you FF racers Yes all FFs are welcome, even contemporary CFs and FFs. We're also asking you to help us with the fund raising aspect of our event. You know, pay it forward a bit. Raising a few bucks is easy. Here's some suggestions:

    • Register online for the race at www.raceagainstkidscancer.org and make specify an additional donation to MAF when you register online for the race.
    • Share your participation in the race with family, friends, and colleagues. Ask them to support you and The Morgan Adams Foundation by making a donation in your name toward your total. Here's a handy-dandy form to send them so their donations count toward your total for your perks.
    • Use the emails, letters, and Facebook posts provided to you on the RAKC website to encourage your connections to support you racing in the Race Against Kids’ Cancer.
    • Not an RMVR member, not entering the race, or won’t be able to attend the race? You can still donate online! Be sure to choose “RAKC” as the event your donation is for.
    • Oh, and don't forget about buying a 2014 Calendar Grid Girl calendar.

Hope to see you there. Please feel free to ask questions.
