Does anyone have any ideas for the range of wicker heights for a single element vintage FA rear wing.
Is something like 1/8" to 1/4" in the ballpark?
Thanks,
JeffW

You are in the ballpark, in most cases the wicker should be 70 percent of the overall length of the wing. Go to Aerodynamics on apexspeed it's a good read

Hey there, Just might want to check that 70 percent number.....seems a little "high" to me, if you like this sort of stuff, pick up a copy of "Racecar Aerodynamics", good read, especially the sections on interplay between the wing surfaces =- spacing, stagger, diffuser interaction and the like. And, just for fun, tuft the car, mount that camera of yours facing the aero in question, and film a session. Try differing heights, keep good notes on how the car feels and your times - in and out of traffic, and learn from the pics. Did my reynard years ago - eye opening!
Here are some wind tunnel test results for Gurney flaps of various sizes.
Thanks Neil for sending along the link to that useful research paper on Gurney lips - very helpful. Looking at the graphs I have selected a "middle of the road" option which I think will be effective. Other options can be tried later.
Thanks,
Jeff W
