Default Thanks for attending the 2013 ARRC presented by GrassRoots M

I'm sorry that this thank-you note took so long to come out. On behalf of the Atlanta Region SCCA, we'd like to thank everyone for coming out and supporting the American Road Race of Champions presented by GrassRoots Motorsports. We had a great 3 days of racing with a small but competitive open-wheel field of over 50 cars between the two run groups on Saturday.

The F600 Challenge Series had their final race on Saturday and had an awards presentation Saturday night where they presented checks to the series winners.

We are already planning for next years ARRC. It will be held on October 30, 31 and November 1 & 2. Look for a true championship caliber event with some special events. I can already see some Spooky Formula races in the future.

If you have any thoughts on how we can increase the number of Formula Cars at the ARRC, please let me know.

Atlanta Region is going to have a great 2014 Racing season, mark your calendars now...

March 21 - 23 - March Majors - Get an early jump on the runoffs with the only Majors race in March
    May 17 - 18 - SE Championship Series
July 12 -13 - Double SARRC, ECR & Pro Series
October 30 - November 2 - The Spooktacular American Road Race of Champions

    See you at the track!!!

    Thanks again

On behalf of all the F600 Challenge drivers, thanks for putting on such a great event. We look forward to having our championship race at the ARRC next year. You guys always run a top notch event. We hope to have around 20 cars for next years F600 championship. That is almost enough to make me want to get out of the car and stand on the front straight just to listen and watch the start! Almost!

My only suggestion for next year is louder speakers for the awards presentation in the Chalet. With everyone talking you couldn't hear anything unless you walked up to the front and even then it was marginal.

    Chris,

Thanks for your comments and feedback. We will look into the speakers at the chalet.

    Default Thanks ARRC Workers

Thanks to all the workers & official, unbelievable the amount of time & effort they put in to make this race happen! . However, I liked it better when the podium presentations were held down in pit lane where everyone could watch instead of behind tech where most people didn't know it was being held. Our race group 3 (wings & things) qualifying really got hosed, so to speak, with the morning session being a washout in the rain & then the afternoon dry session being cancelled on the second lap because of a FA relocating a wall. Seems we could have been given another 2 or 3 laps after the clean up since the next group of 50 Miatas were released onto the track as soon as our 15 minutes expired and we were sent back to the paddock.

    Scott,

Thanks for your comments. Everyone worked hard to put on a first class event and I appreciate you recognizing the workers.

I agree with your comment on qualifying, I wish there was a time stretcher where we could put more hours in the day and give everyone the time that they need. Putting these events on is a real balancing act trying to fit everything in but we try.

I will look at the schedules for next year and see if anything can be done but I'm really not very hopeful.

Thanks again for attending the ARRC.
