Is the current FV entry for this race a joke?
Come on guys/gals, let's go racing!
This is NARRC glory we're dealing with!

I was also curious why so few people have registered??? Usually another NER race is the weekend before or after this event, which keeps the entries lower, but I don't think thats case. The grouping is the same as the last LRP race with the FF's in with the faster open wheels.

Hey Anthony,
Like on the other thread, "Just Don't Get It", it's the cost of entry.
Lime Rock two weeks ago, the Glen next week. On my limited budget
it's the entry fees. I can't afford all three so I pick and choose.
Tom
P.S.
I'll be there flagging.

Hey Anthony,
As in the other thread on the FV website, "Just Don't Get It", I must
pick and choose my events carefully because of my limited budget.
With Lime Rock two weeks ago and the Glen next week I can' afford
all three entry fees. Forty years ago when entry fees were lower I
would race 10-12 times a year.
I plan to be there as a flagger.
See you,
Tom
Must be my age. I repeat myself!!!
I would have been there but when getting the car ready found out the fuel cell was shot - cost of fuel cell = 2 race weekends.
Killer because it is a MoHud weekend and they don't need a low turnout - I wonder if Lime Rock will return to a one day event..
ChrisZ
Chris, go to Advanced Auto and get a big honk'n barbed fuel filter or 2.
Then come to the track and remind us how crazy fast you are there.

I don't need to be reminded how fast Chris is ... lol But we do miss you on track!
I've read a few places that we have a "new fuel cell manufacture" (can't remember the name) maybe only one entry fee.
The master at work!
Will duct tape work in a situation like this (fuel cell)?
Sorry to bail on you Anthony (and Craig), but I need to save my pennies for the Glen. Entry fees approaching $400 at NH have reduced my season by one race weekend. Good luck this weekend and I'll see you the following week!
Nick
It was an old style cell and the mount for the fuel line and the filler neck actually broke off! A small crack I might have patched but this was too much.
After sitting for 3 years the car needs a lot of TLC.
I just noticed there are 5 races in 5 weeks (Lime Rock, NJMP, Watkins (Nat), Lime Rock and Watkins - too many races in a short time considering most of the drivers are in the Tri-State area
ChrisZ
Too many wings and fast things on track at the same time...
I just received This e-mail
Group Changes?
Schedule cleanup

New Group7
SSM,SM2,STU,SPU
New Group 8
SRF Legends
ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC
I thought this was a mistake when I read it. The speed differential is way too much for one group. I am still going but not sure how much fun this is going to be!!
Wow that's bad!
Mark Filip
If you chose to race this weekend, you will be constantly run over by the faster classes.
You won't have a race.
I'm not saying 'don't to it' but maybe I am...
The last time I was run over that badly was at a driver's school in 1990.
Tips to survive:
Guard your line like your life depended on it.
Point and leave the outside line available whether you thought a car was approaching or not.
Again, I don't get out much... hoping for the NHIS Cheap Date and the NARCOFFs this year(unless they pull the same **** as this weekend, I'm out).

For anyone changing their minds about this event, just a few hours further north, there will be a much larger group on their OWN. No wings, no Fords, no 500s, no Firsts. We are expecting 20-25 cars.

From a fellow US competitor, this is a much more affordable series. And the weekend Shane is referring to offers US drivers the choice of running on slicks, but also are offering tires and rims no charge to those that want them and here's the best part, one practice, one qualifying session and 3 races for half price entry fee of only $250. This past weekend at the glen the entry fee was $550 US for about the same track time but you ran with FF and F500. Guys I see the threads and complaints about running with so many different classes, here is an opportunity to race among yourselves and at a great price. And for those of you worried about the border that has been a breeze you just tell them you are racing at Mosport and they are very easy to deal with. I have done the trip 3 times this year and had no problems . Well I am not going to beg, but I think you owe it to yourselves to at least try the weekend and see if it works for you. Oh and did I mention you get to run on one of the greatest race tracks around.
Regards
DERM
And to the US racers who have raced at Mosport in the past....You wont recognise the place nowdays!!!!!its completley changed with the tower etc gone, track resurfaced in certain places(more grip),plenty of race-car/trailer parking(no charge) and of course Canadian beer(7% not 5%).Wait till you see the new control tower complex!!!
Can we run slicks if we don't want to make the switch?
Mark
Absolutely! You won't collect those precious championship points, but we have no problem with people running slicks.
History suggests that a quick driver on slicks can turn high 1:30's, where F1200 spec are in the 1:42 range.
Shane Viccary

That would actually be a cool and helpful comparison, having F1200 spec and US FV spec cars on track at the same time Keep the rest of us posted!

Greg;'
Good to hear from you. To answer your question, it's my understanding that I would have to purchase treaded tires, so therefore my query?
Thanks!
Mark
Mark,
If you are serious about going, I will lend you a set.
C$230 entry fee for Practice, Qualifying and three 20-min Races a nd free tires! You can't go wrong.
Guy.
I think Greg was "shocked" that you weren't taking up the offers of free tires, but those were on another thread that you probably hadn't seen. Anyway, Shane and various other F1200 drivers have spare sets of wheels and tires that they were letting US FV drivers borrow for the race
It looks like race groups have been reset to (almost) their original designations:
To all racers in group 3, we have decided to change groups 1+3 back to the original format. With the exception to NCF.
We are vey sorry for any confusion. A corrected schedule and numbers will be available at registration. Please notify the registrar you are in one of these groups at check in.
The corrected groups are;
Group 1
FA,FB,FC,FE,FF,FMC,FC,CSR,DSR,CF,S2,ASR,FS,NCF
Group 3
FV,FST,F5
Again we apologize for inconvenience.

What a cluster F
Mark Filip
Mark it's not really a cluster even if it seems that way.
MoHud Region has been running this event for many years and it is usually very well subscribed and a fun event.
Many years ago the New England Veefest was held at this event and very well attended.
A few of us racing FC sent a n email to the powers that be asking for a return to separate groupings for safety, it seems as if they listened.
This years not that many entries, probably the economy and the uncomfortable heat and humidity in New England, who knows
They are working hard to try and cover costs which they may not be able to do this time...
I said it was a cluster because they changed it which may have altered plans for people who were already attending but decided to cancel because of safety concerns then they changed it back. The people making these decisions should be aware of these type if safety issues and it shouldnt take complaints from racers to change it. Look what happened last year when they put SRF in another group and a car drove over one hitting the drivers helmet. I understand about the cost but putting a FV on track with that many much faster cars I don't think would change the attendance. What at best it gives everyone 2 more laps? To me that's not worth a accident.
I suspect attendance is down because there was just a regional there and the Glen is next weekend. With the cost of events getting hire every year I know for me I pick events carefully. It may be the normal people that go to LRP just elected another event.
Mark Filip
Gents,
I just went and signed in for this weekends MoHud Regional at LRP.
What a shock.
Another version of the schedule.
You FV and 500 and FST guys have your run group again [thanks Dennis you yacht driving .......] but for whatever reason they decided to move what was Group 1, FA/C/B/E/F/NCF/CSR/DSR/ etc which had become the second group on track to the LAST group on Track on FRIDAY.
Then revert to the original schedule for Saturday where that Group 1 is now first !
So last, 5:30-6 Friday, to first post warmups, what, maybe 9:30 ? Saturday.
Confused ?
Join the club.
So any what thought they were Group 1 early out tomorrow can have a fine day cooling their heels until the sun gets low enough to effing blind you at the uphill........
The explanation was somehow related to the regions PDX sessions on Friday and by all means, screw the racers around so the people driving around in their street cars are happy with their schedule.....
I am personal disgusted, with MoHud in particular and my club of over 45 years SCCA in general.
And the powers that be hate us, F2000 and F1600, and maybe Atlantic again for 2014, because we are "STEALING" their entries ?
Really?
Treating CUSTOMERS like paying customers is always a pretty damn good idea.......
I just arrived and received the same schedule Mike did. Merging the run groups could be seen as an honest mistake, and it's great that they corrected it but moving us from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm at the last minute has me a bit steamed.
They are running a PDX on Friday as well, so only 1 session. Running a "bonus" race on Saturday which again limits track time. I guess I should have read the supps more carefully, I would not have made the trip or paid the entry for 1/3 of a race weekend.

Hey Geoff, is there a way to get our posts on to the FF and FC forums so those guys know ?
I am way to computer illiterate to do so.........
All set Mike. I'd be happy to teach you a few things about computers if you'll show me how you get around LRP without using the brakes until the .
I think tomorrow will be the first time in my 10+ years racing that my first on-track session is scheduled for after dinner.

Wait, news flash !.
Per Tom Campbell, Chief Steward, now Group 1 is actually Group LAST both days !
up, last out both Friday AND Saturday.....enjoy, boys and girls.......
I just want you to enjoy the full experience Mark. While we will be away at Mid-Ohio, should you have any tire supply issues, I can leave a set on my doorstep in Niagara Falls that you could pick up on your way through.
Racing at Mosport is never a bad idea.
Having 20 same-class cars in your group is never a bad idea.
Half-price entry is never a bad idea.
Free tire use is never a bad idea.
