You should have received by now the entry form for Rounds #7 and #8 of the FF/CFF East vs West Challenge September 6-7 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

FF/CFF are currently in a race group with FV and F500. The agreement with Ohio Valley Region is if the combined FF/CFF/FV/F500 race group is oversubscribed, an additional race group will be added for FF/CFF.

The sooner this decision can be made, the better for everyone. To that end, please enter NOW rather than later.

I'll be working closely with our Ohio Valley Region friends over the next three weeks but without entries I won't have much if anything to negotiate with.

I believe the number needed is 52 cars to split the group. We are working on the FV end to promote this race with a subsidiary version of the EWC just for FV. We love the idea of separate groups and we will do our part to help it happen.

Anyone serious about the Runoffs should attend, $270 for almost 2 hours (four sessions) of track time. On Monday morning, September 8th, the testing rates will go up just a bit!

I have initiated a dialogue with Ohio Valley Region re: race groups at their September 6-7 double regional. Please get your entry in early so that we can get things sorted out in advance of the race weekend.

Per Bill Bonow's post above, if you know any FV/F500 racers, encourage them to enter as well. One way or another, we need to get the combined total above 52 cars.

The Supplemental Regulations for this event say that there is a maximum of 56 cars per group.

I have been exchanging e-mails with the registrar. As of Wednesday August 20, she had received the following Group 2 entries: FF = 5, CFF = 2, FV = 7, and F500 = 1.

This total of 15 cars is a long way from the 56 required to break up the race group. Everyone needs to get their Rolodexes out and do some recruiting. Good luck.

We are doing our part..... Our Formula First (FS) cars (four of them) will be moved into the FV/F500/CFF/FF race group. That is four less to split the group.
