I had a chassis that I aquired with a formula ford, so I decided to build up a F1000. We cut the back of a Carbir FC off, and Kevin Mitz welded on a new back. It has taken at least 10 times as long as I figured it would but we are finally getting close.
I will not have the car done for Laguna but I will come down for a visit.
I wanted to say thanks to Kevin, Doug Learned at Fast Forward for all their help, and to Brian Utt for sending me lots of parts.
I just got the chassis back from the Powder Coaters, if anyone around San Jose needs to have powdercoating done. Ask me the guy I used was very reasonable and likes to do race cars. I am happy to give a reference.
We put a 1/8 stainless belly pan on, that was a job. Lots of drilling, and clamping..
We are using a 2009 GSXR as it fit better with the stock FC pickup points
